Tidbits for November 15

British TV, News

  • While things Stateside continue to be doom and gloom, there is a tiny bright spark headed that way, courtesy of the BBC. Season 2 of the immeasurably brilliant Life On Mars will be shown on BBC America starting December 11. Were you foolish enough to miss the first season? Never fear. Pop Vultures will be getting you caught up in the coming weeks. And for those with regular access to BBC on its native soil, the Life On Mars spin off Ashes to Ashes, starring Gene Hunt and 1981, is set to air in early 2008. Considering that television will likely resemble a dark, desolate wasteland by that point, this is welcome news indeed.
  • Thought you might get through a day without strike news? Ha! MeeVee found what might be the most blatant proof yet that the studio heads are gigantic lying liars, as proven in this clip in which they carelessly speak about their future plans to roll around naked in piles of Internet money while cackling about the ways they screwed the writers. I may be putting a few words into their mouths, but not a lot.
