JustJody, I think you nailed it. All those shows I used to watch out of habit seem far less interesting now that I have broken the habit. Still, it's bad news for a TV blogger!

I feel exactly the same way about TV these days... I'm loving BSG, but have been disappointed in most of the post-strike episodes. Samantha Who?, My Name is Earl, Men in Trees and Desperate Housewives are all victims of my post-strike TV apathy.

I guess if your 'friends' all leave for a while, it makes you realize which ones you really miss?

Carrie, wasn't it great? I'm so in love with that show right now, it's silly.

Rachel, I actually watched more television at some points during the strike, because I used the time to get caught up on other series. Of course, that meant I was able to immerse myself in complete seasons of shows, so perhaps it's getting back to a measly hour a week of each show that's causing my reaction.

I think for me it's that I really stopped watching TV at all during the strike, and now I keep forgetting to pay attention to when things are on. Which is kind of good - I'd like to get in the habit of just waiting and watching things on DVD.

And a sidebar about Ashes to Ashes: By the end of episode 6 I was completely ready to just give up - it felt entirely one note, and I was getting irritated - but I found out it was only 8 episodes, so I struggled through to the end. I can't imagine I'll watch next season, though.

Amazingly, I forgot all about this week's BSG. How did that happen? Have caught up now. It's bloody brilliant! Other than that, I am a bit lost with telly at the moment. I'm not sure what I watch anymore. I think BSG might be it for American tv right now.
